Amit is a prominent IBBI Registered Valuer and the founder and CEO of Armslength. With over 18 years of specialized experience, Amit has established himself as a leading expert in the valuation field, adeptly managing both complex and high-stakes projects. His extensive expertise spans various aspects of valuation, including business and equity assessments for private ventures and public enterprises. He is proficient in handling valuations for intricate transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, sales, and purchases, as well as valuations for compliance with regulatory requirements like FEMA, Companies Act, Income Tax, SEBI, RBI and transfer pricing guidelines.
Amit’s skills extend to valuing a diverse array of financial instruments, including stock options (SOPs & ESOPs), preference shares, and debentures. He is also highly experienced in valuing real estate properties and intangible assets, such as brands, copyrights, customer contracts, and customer relationships. His career trajectory includes a significant tenure with Ernst & Young (EY), India’s largest valuation team. This experience has further sharpened his expertise and allowed him to serve numerous high-profile multinational corporations and offshore consulting firms effectively.
Academically, Amit is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from Law Centre-I, University of Delhi, which provides him with a robust legal perspective that enhances his valuation practice. Additionally, he has successfully completed a year-long valuation program conducted by the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) under the aegis of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. He also holds a Master’s degree in Plant and Machinery Valuation and is a certified valuer by ICAI.
Beyond his professional achievements, Amit contributes to the academic community as a visiting faculty member at the School of Finance, IICA, ICAI, RVOs and other professional bodies like PHD chambers, ICSI and B-schools. Additionally, he serves as a director at the International Association of Certified Valuation Specialists (IACVS) India Chapter.
